MASK TIME:

The new mandate for us at the ARC is to get masks and wear them in public areas by sundown.  The ARC is complying with Government restrictions as best they can within the law “for compounds” while going the extra mile with our witness as followers of Jesus to anyone that is watching us.  This means even within our gated community: any work going on and any walking to and from communal mealtimes.  Our gate was officially locked this evening. Our new mandate is 2by2 = 2 people, 2 meters apart

Title: Health Alert: U.S. Embassy Jerusalem (March 26, 2020)Location:  Location: Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza

The Government of Israel announced updated guidelines and restrictions regarding personal movements and social distancing to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). These guidelines include remaining within 100 meters of your home, reduced public transport, and the closure of places of worship, schools, commercial/dining establishments, heritage sites, and parks/beaches.

Israel remains at a Warning Level 3 issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  As of March 25, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that travelers from CDC Level 3 or Level 4 countries who are asymptomatic may enter the United States and travel to their final destination and self-quarantine upon arrival.

As of March 26, commercial flights departing Ben Gurion Airport to the United States remain available on a couple of airlines but are subject to change at any time for an indefinite timeframe.

Personal thoughts:  We have decided to remain because our Visa is longer-term and no real immediate time restrictions for us to travel.

There still is plenty to do on this 15 acres property at the Alyiah Returned Center (ARC).  There remains a group of people, Olim (Jewish immigrants) from Ukraine, 14 South American youth, and a handful of travelers that have trickled in after their 14 isolation to serve.

Within the confines of our ARC property we have the following rules:

> taking temperatures every morning and keeping a log for any medical personnel that may request it.

> no more to 10 in a room

> one designated person goes to the local store that remains open to get needed supplies.  The local store has basic food items.

We are doing fine and remain healthy and strong and are at peace.  PTL!!!

A later report from The Times of Israel stated the government is set to announce drastic restrictions including shutting down public transportation, closing all stores except food markets and pharmacies and keeping people within 150 meters of home (about 500 feet).
